Few guitars capture the vibe of the esoteric and early version Epiphone slab body electrics like this Krishna Jain Crestwood replica. Using a combination of templates from an original 1959 Epiphone Coronet and various late 50s Gibson electrics, this mahogany-bodied doublecut delivers all of the great midrange punch we expect in this format.

Essentially handmade in his Boston area shop, Krishna took an old-school approach to this build, and sourced some great tonewood in the process. The one-piece Honduran Mahogany body has great sustain and resonance paired with a hand-shaped soft V-to-C carve neck that is ultra playable. It's outfitted with one of the best sets of P90s on the market - Wolfetone Mean/Meaner P90s. These pickups have great clarity and note definition that capture the alluring character of early 50s Gibson P90s but with a bit more output and balance, making them well suited for many styles of music. Clean tones have great sparkle with a slightly rounded but clear low end; middle position on this guitar is amazing! Gained up, the classic top end crack of a great P90 is inherent, with a really great upper midrange openness that highlights the slab-body Mahogany tone to a tee.

Condition: Very Good+. The super-thin nitro finish has already started to reveal the woodgrain, and feels quite broken-in. There are some small bumps and nicks from light play wear, along with some finish checking on the headstock. Hardware is very clean and the pickguard has some light play wear. Frets are in excellent shape with little to no wear present. An aftermarket headstock badge was added for a period-correct and authentic look. The previous owner moved the strap button from the traditional location on the back of the body to the bass side horn as well. For an all-black instrument, it's quite clean!

This custom-built Krishna Jain Crestwood is a sure-fire option for a player looking for that LP special style electric with a unique aesthetic and high-grade components.
