The 'Tier 1' designation refers to the guitar's top, which could also be considered a deluxe/premium grade of highly figured maple. There's no denying that the top on this Kenai is spectacular and the Aged Scotch finish highlights all of the figuring with rich caramel, brown, red, and amber hues. 

In-hand, the Knaggs feels quite a bit like a hand-made PRS Private Stock guitar - no surprises here given that Knaggs founder/designer Joe Knaggs spent 25 years with PRS. The build quality and attention to detail are extremely high, yielding a very easy playing guitar that easily produces Les Paul like punch and midrange, just in a more ergonomic package.

Condition: Excellent. Only light signs of prior ownership save for a clear coat chip on the headstock (see pics: left of Knaggs logo, corner of the headstock). The setup is spot on.
