Here's a great V1 1989 Heritage H-140CM Custom in Antique Cherry Burst. According to Heritage, this was a custom order and features a beautiful Ebony fingerboard not often seen on these models.
Built in the old Gibson Kalamazoo factory in the early days of the company, the H-140 represents Heritage's version of a Les Paul, albeit with a florentine cutaway and the company's own bridge and tailpiece. A carved two-piece Curly Maple top sits atop a Mahogany body, with a slim-carved Mahogany neck and factory stinger! As mentioned prior, this custom ordered H-140 sports an Ebony fingerboard as opposed to the Rosewood fingerboards that came standard on these models.
This is quite a clean example that is almost entirely original save for the pickups, which are Gibson Classic '57s. Light play and handling wear on the body with some pick scratches on the pickguard. The original medium jumbo frets are in great shape, nicely dressed with great playability. The original nitrocellulose finish has started to sink into the wood and reveal some woodgrain, which presents beautifully.
While it's no lightweight, this H-140 has great sustain and resonance combined with excellent playability and authentic single-cut tone.
Priced with original hardshell case.
