Simply. Sublime. We are honored to host Michael Heiden's masterful Artist F mandolin here in the shop. Mandolins don't get much better than this, especially new out of the gate. The sound is wide open, expansive, and rich in harmonic content across the entire frequency spectrum. Trebles are rounded, forgiving, yet vibrant and clear. I liken the tone to a rose bush in full bloom—all sweet fragrance and splendor, without the thorns.
Heiden has long emphasized a player-friendly sound and feel as well. Playability on this Artist F is fast and streamlined. The instrument responds quickly and rings out with even a light attack. Dig in just a little and this mandolin will respond in kind, with great projection and serious sustain. As completely satisfying, joyful a mandolin experience as any we have encountered in recent years.
