If you're on the hunt for "the perfect Strat" that has one foot in the modern era while not forgetting what makes vintage Strats so magical? This your guitar.

The devil is in the details as the expression goes, and that's certainly the case this NOS Retro.

The one-piece maple neck features a wonderful feeling satin lacquer finish, but, without Don's more common aged finish (which looks great, it should be noted). Here, the natural maple look is pure 50s Fender, especially when paired with the gorgeous 2-tone sunburst finish on this guitar's swamp ash body (again, pure 50s Fender).

To round out the old school vibes, we spec'd this build with Don's (again) less common '60s vintage pickups, which have a more open, less compressed tone (vs his wonderful sounding Fat 60s pickups). If you've spent any amount of time with a 50s Strat, Custom Shop or otherwise, you'll recall they tend to have a touch more Tele twang and top-end bite to them vs the more compressed, "rounder" tones of 60s Strats. This Grosh indeed folks in more Tele bite and twang and simply put, it's glorious.

The modern elements of Don's builds come via the impeccable fretwork, 10" fingerboard radius, Gotoh trem, locking tuners (which look vintage), and his ingenious wiring setup - volume, tone, blend.

Simply put? This could easily be someone's one and only Strat with the best of both worlds - vintage and modern. Not to be missed!
