The Grez Folsom blends vintage-inspired design with unmistakable Grez character - alive, musical, and built to make every note feel effortless.
It’s been a minute since we last had a Grez Folsom in the shop - and honestly, we’re all wondering why! We tend to focus our orders on Barry Grzebik’s award-winning Mendocino models, but getting reacquainted with the Folsom has been like reconnecting with an old friend.
The Folsom is such a cool guitar in so many ways - and - it’s a beautifully executed nod to the early days of the electric guitar, with Paul Bigsby-inspired details that feel both vintage and fresh. If you only know Bigsby for his iconic tremolos, do yourself a favor and check out his original guitar designs - you’ll see exactly why we love the Folsom so much.
That said, the Folsom isn’t a copy or tribute guitar. The hallmarks of Barry’s work make it clear this is his vision of what this style of guitar can be. Those hallmarks always come back to musicality - Grez guitars are just plain fun to play and always sound great. Everything works as it should, effortlessly, and you can feel Barry’s emphasis on how a player interacts with the instrument. In those ways (and more), Barry’s guitars never disappoint.
Built around a set of Fralin Tele pickups, the Folsom delivers familiar T-style tones with the resonance and feel of a played-in, handmade instrument - a guitar that bridges eras without feeling anchored to any of them. It’s an old soul with a fresh voice, and we couldn’t be happier to have it back on our wall.
