Description
James Goodall set up shop in Fort Bragg, CA back in 1972, and that's where he and his son Luke continue to build guitars today. But somewhere in the middle, he and his wife Jean spent a couple decades crafting guitars in Hawaii, where they expanded their output and reputation. On this 1997 Grand Concert model, they've paired some exceptionally beautiful Hawaiian koa with red cedar from the Pacific NW. The result blends the best tonal qualities of both tonewoods. Cedar's warmth and responsiveness lends itself to fingerpicking, and koa's bright pop and focus give the guitar plenty of headroom and projection for strumming. At 24 years old, this guitar does have some signs of honest wear. Pick marks, finish checking, and a few minor cosmetic dings here and there, but nothing that takes away from the structural integrity or sound quality. Priced with hard case.
