Rhode Island-based builder Max Girouard consistently produces some incredible mandolins, with solid craftsmanship, gorgeous tone woods and expert voicing.
Why We Love This
Anyone in the market for a small-shop, oval hole mandolin in excellent condition should consider this recent Two Point Oval from Rhode Island builder Max Girouard. This particular instrument has everything we look for in an expertly crafted oval hole mandolin; it's warm and balanced, with a roundness to each note that is soft while still offering plenty of projection. The slim, soft V neck and narrower nut width make for easy playability, without feeling cramped. Girouard chose a stunning set of Big Leaf maple for the back and sides of this instrument, paired with a Sinker Western Red Cedar top, and handsomely finished by hand in a "dijon yellow" varnish.
This instrument comes to us in excellent condition with minimal signs of prior ownership - frets are in great shape and playability is excellent after a fresh setup. Priced with hardshell case. On consignment.
Please note: used instruments are, well, used. We pride ourselves on thoroughly vetting, and carefully photographing, each pre-owned instrument we sell, but many of them carry subtle signs of handling that can escape even the most discerning eye. If you have questions about the condition of this instrument, we invite you to call us for an in-hand description. We're here to help!
