Strikingly figured tone woods and a wide-open sonority define this Concert Oval Hole from our friends, Max and Lauri Girouard. With its carved, Port Orford Cedar top, this mandolin offers a very warm, inviting sound, with plump, punchy lows, a scooped midrange, clear, rounded highs, and absolutely superb sustain.
Being Girouard's top of the line model, in addition to the highest-grade woods, this Concert features fully bound, purfled edges, a James tailpiece, lovely Rubner tuners, and a varnish finish that beautifully highlights all the ripples and waves running through these woods. Fit and finish is spot on, as with all of Girouard's builds.
