Just in from our superbly talented friends in Rhode Island, Max and Lauri Girouard, the A5 Concert sits at the pinnacle of their teardrop lineup. Full, rich, three-dimensional tonality, great volume and projection, ease of playability, and pristine workmanship—it's all there in spades. The hand-applied varnish adorns a lovely one-piece back and well matched, one-piece neck, both pulled from Max's top shelf. As befits a high-end mandolin, for hardware Max has opted for the new Rubner RMP tuners—works of art in their own right—and a James tailpiece.
Max and Lauri have received their fair share of accolades for their work, and even at the top end of their build sheet, they provide one of the best values in the modern mandolin world.
Priced with Calton case.
