Simply put, this is another heirloom-grade guitar from Gil Yaron—an absolute masterclass in tone and craftsmanship.
Whenever a Yaron arrives at our shop, it’s a special day. We’ve had serveral of Gil’s legendary LP replicas through the shop over the years (we have one right now actually) but this time we’re looking at something a little different—his Bone H model.
At first glance, the Bone H appears to be a Les Paul variant, and while it can certainly cover that ground tonally, there’s a lot more going on with this model that gives it a very unique character / feel in-hand.
This guitar is built with old-growth mahogany, a paulownia core for added resonance, a pre-CITES Brazilian rosewood fretboard, and a highly-figured maple top. Add in Gil’s own PAF pickups, a NOS ‘50s style wiring harness, and meticulous craftsmanship, and you have an instrument that’s truly in a class of its own - a Les Paul style and then some we suppose you could say.
The feel? Pure magic. At just 7lbs, it’s effortlessly lightweight, perfectly balanced, and walks the line between vintage warmth and modern playability. The string tension is taut yet slinky, making for an addictive playing experience.
Then, there’s the tone. Rich midrange depth with a snappy, articulate top-end, pulling everything from textured gain tones to warm, fat Wes Montgomery-approved jazz sounds with ease. This is where our Les Paul but then some analogy applies. It's familiar yet unique, and ultimately, incredibly musical and inspiring.
