What To Know
This late model Gibson Custom '57 Les Paul CME Spec build combines classic late 50s LP stylings and tone with a slimmer early 60s neck carve, making it a great option for the player who wants a fast-playing neck.
The Custom 'S' Buckers - a CME exclusive - provide great low output PAF style tone. The pickups are potted from the factory to deliver solid response in higher gain situations without the feedback commonly associated with unpotted pickups.
Condition: Very Good. The guitar is very clean, showing only the lightest signs of play wear. So why doesn't it qualify as Excellent then? Great question! The guitar did suffer some damage by way of a crack in the Maple top extending from the bridge pickup volume control to the tone control. We can only assume the guitar was knocked into on the bridge pot with enough force to cause the damage. In any case, CME handled the repair in-house, leaving only the finish crack and surrounding checking to identify the prior damage. It's structurally sound and was previously sold in its current condition. A fresh set of amber bonnet knobs were put on to replace the damaged set as well.
