This 2002 Gibson Custom Shop L-5 Custom Wes Montgomery model just came in on consignment, and it's an excellent example of one of Gibson's finest electric archtop models from the early days of the Custom Art & Historic division.
Featuring a high-grade spruce top and maple back and rims, the 17" body delivers rich, woody tone with power and clarity. Multi-ply binding accents the top and back in elevated fashion only found on Gibson's top-tier guitars.
The guitar’s 5-piece neck is constructed of three pieces of Figured Maple and two Walnut laminations supporting a 20-fret ebony fingerboard with pearl block inlays and multi-ply white binding. Comfortable action and smooth playing neck profile make for a very easy playing archtop.
Previously owned and maintained by a professional musician, it remains in exquisite condition with barely any signs of handling or play wear. There are some light pick scratches on the guard and a small dimple The frets are in great condition as well!
