1981 G&L L-1000 bass in original Black finish!
The L-1000 model was Leo Fender's evolutionary "Precision" model focused at maintaining the simplicity of his original P Bass design while offering the player more versatility by way of some advancements in the electronics. The original humbucking pickup provides plenty of output with a fat thick response perfect for heavier rock tunes. The coils can be split as well, bringing more of a classic single-coil sound into the fold. Individual Bass and Treble controls allow for even finer tuning of your sound - there's a lot to work with!
This is a great playing example that's seen its fair share of use over the decades, but with the exception of the nut has seen no modifications. The original Black finish shows light to moderate wear throughout, with most of the scuffs and dings located along the edge of the body. The Maple neck has yellowed and ambered over the years to a nice golden hue and plays very well with a slim, comfortable carve. All hardware remains original and functional as well.
Early period G&Ls remain some of the best and most undervalued electrics on the market. If you're looking for a great utility 4-string, this L-1000 should be on your list!
