This stunning Froggy Bottom H-12 in Brazilian Rosewood and German Spruce exhibits the sort of tone we all dream of when trying to conjure the strains of the ideal-sounding acoustic guitar. It's got an ethereal shimmer, which doesn't come at the lack of woodiness, and the responsiveness and power typically only found in a guitar from the 1930's. As a fingerstyle instrument, we'd venture to say it doesn't get any better in a new guitar. For this build, which will be our last featuring a heelcap scrimshaw (the artist who does the work has retired), we we allowed to select a beautiful set of AAAAA Brazilian Rosewood typically reserved for private commissions; and we opted not to add too much else, in the name of keeping the focus on the wood and the scrimshaw. But it bears repeating -- after the first strum, you likely won't care what it looks like. And it may be several hours later, when you're able to put it down, that you find yourself thinking about anything else. With Cedar Creek AVS hard case.
While this guitar is technically pre-owned, its condition is near-mint. A similarly appointed new guitar would price above $25,000.00. The heelcap scrimshaw is no longer an option from Froggy Bottom.
