There’s something undeniably thrilling about unlocking Strat-like tones in a completely reimagined format. The Sonar flips the script, offering a fresh perspective with its unique controls and non-traditional design.
From its retro-cool "student model" aesthetics to the precision build, the Sonar exudes creativity and quickly the second you take it out of its Hiscox case. Its Duncan Antiquity Mini-Humbuckers, paired with a 5-way switch and a trio of switches (Treble Cut, Neck ON, and Blower), push sonic boundaries while staying rooted in a familiar tonal foundation. The result? A guitar that invites experimentation and expands your tonal horizons.
What truly sets the Sonar apart is its masterful blend of soul and precision. With build quality rivaling the finest instruments we carry, it’s a joy to play—effortless yet full of character. Achieving such a harmonious balance of vibe and craftsmanship is no small feat, but the Sonar nails it.
Its Medium C neck profile (0.86–0.94”), 9 1/2" radius, and 25.5" scale deliver Fender-isms, if you will, but the string feel and neck profile put it a bit more in the Gibson (Collings, honestly) department. Plugging into a Carr Sportsman and layering on pedals, the Duncan Antiquity pickups deliver muscular, chimey cleans that seamlessly transition into rich, overdriven textures.
The intuitive switch layout unlocks incredible versatility. The Treble Cut switch dials back treble, boosting midrange for lo-fi, wah-like tones that shine with overdrive. Meanwhile, the Blower Switch provides a direct pickup-to-amp connection for instant volume and gain boosts, perfect for dynamic shifts during a performance.
Whether you’re chasing traditional sounds or experimenting with something completely new, the Sonar delivers.
