Following the reintroduction of American made mdoels in 1985, Fender rolled out an elevated version of their new American Standard series known as the Plus series. The model featured upgrades in electronics (Lace Sensor), Schaller locking tuners and a roller nut, along with special finish options.
This example came to us in nearly time-capsule level condition, with all of the aforementioned original features unchanged. A slender medium C neck profile with zero-taper carve and medium jumbo frets offers ultimate playability up and down the neck, and the original Lace Sensor pickups provide 50s and 60s tone in a hum-free package.
The original Brown Sunburst finish highlights the really nice grain of the Ash body, and the Indian Rosewood fretboard follows suit with some vibrant chocolate hues.
These late 80s US made Strats are total sleepers, and offer up fantastic value for someone who wants the player-friendly features of a modern electric with timeless tone.
