Fender’s new Player II Mod Series brings popular, performance-driven upgrades to a more accessible price point—making it one of the best values in their lineup.
Modifications? We’re talking rolled fingerboard edges, Noiseless pickups, locking tuners, treble bleed circuits, and more, all bundled into one seriously well-appointed Strat.
This Electric Blue beauty pairs an alder body with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard - a timeless combo (and for good reason). Outfitted with Player II Noiseless pickups, it delivers the classic Strat tones you expect:
– Bright, articulate bridge tones (with tone control wired to the bridge—one of the most common Strat mods)
– Signature “cluck” in positions 2 & 4
– Smooth, glassy neck tones perfect for clean playing
The 5-way switch is paired with a volume / tone / tone setup, but here’s the twist: the first tone knob is push-pull, letting you add the neck pickup to any position. Want that Tele-style neck + bridge combo? Pull the knob while set to the bridge position on the 5-way and you’re there. This kind of wiring flexibility is rarely found on stock Strats, especially at this price.
The satin-finished, Medium C neck plays effortlessly, and the rolled edges offer a broken-in feel right out of the box. It’s comfortable, responsive, and ready for hours of playing.
Bottom line? The Player II Mod Strat is a standout. Great tones, modern features, and Fender’s classic style—all with upgrades you’d usually pay custom shop prices to get.
