When Fender teams up with a legendary player like Johnny Marr for a signature model, you know it's going to yield a very cool instrument. What you don't expect is just how good the guitar is going to be.
While it's not a Custom Shop model, it has so many meaningful tweaks and upgrades that it had us double-checking the back of the headstock just to make sure it wasn't indeed a Custom Shop model.
Custom specs include UK-made Bare Knuckle Johnny Marr pickups (which sound fantastic), a 4-way pickup selector, custom "bright" switches, custom neck carve based on Johnny's own 1965 Jaguar, nitro finish, and an improved bridge/trem design. All of these changes add up to one of the better playing, and sounding, Jaguar's we've played in a long time. The 7 1/4" radius keeps things decidedly vintage feeling, but you're not really reaching for a Jaguar to rip SRV / Buddy Guy bends, right? These short scale beauties are jangle machines. Perfect for "parts players", rhythm players, etc...
Be sure to watch the included video of Johnny walking you through the design of the guitar with examples of the tone. We figured who best to delve into the specifics and demonstrate it than the man himself?
