In 1997, Fender Custom Shop designers had the rare opportunity to examine one of the most legendary guitars in rock history—Rory Gallagher’s iconic 1961 Stratocaster, thanks to the generosity of his brother, Donal Gallagher. Originally, only 40 replicas were crafted for the European market, but the demand for this masterpiece led to the creation of the Rory Gallagher Tribute Stratocaster, a meticulous re-creation of the cherished original.

Every detail of Gallagher’s guitar has been faithfully replicated, from the heavily worn Three-Color Sunburst alder body to the maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. True to its storied history, it even features five Sperzel tuners, one Gotoh tuner, and a white plastic 12th-fret dot marker in place of the original clay.

Equipped with three custom-wound ’60s single-coil pickups, aged chrome hardware, 21 medium jumbo frets, and a synthetic bone nut, this Strat delivers the unmistakable tone and feel of a guitar that has seen countless legendary performances.
