This Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition 1964 L-Series Stratocaster is as close as it gets to stepping back in time and pulling a well-loved vintage Strat straight off the wall.
For our money, the quarter-sawn maple neck is the real star of this build as it's remarkably close in feel to an original mid-’60s Strat, with a comfy ’63-style “C” profile that just melts into your hand. Paired with a round-lam rosewood fingerboard, 9.5" radius, and 21 narrow tall (6105) frets, it delivers that addictive, broken-in vibe Strats are known for, only here with far superior modern playability.
A set of Custom Shop Fat ’64 pickups (with a ’64 in the middle) nails golden-era Strat tone with a little extra punch: crisp highs, balanced mids, and tight lows, with a touch more output and bass response. The reverse-wound middle pickup keeps positions 2 and 4 hum-free, while Vintage Modified #2 wiring and a Tone-Saver bleed circuit preserve clarity as you roll back the volume. Vintage-style trem, mint guard, and an aged lacquer finish round out the look of a perfectly worn-in classic.
If you’re chasing that early-to-mid ’60s Strat magic, this is easily one of the most inspiring modern Strats we’ve had through the shop. Priced with deluxe hardshell case, strap, and COA.
