If you’re chasing mid-’60s Strat tone and playability, the L-Series guitars are some of the most convincing modern recreations we’ve had in the shop.
We’ve been loving the L-Series Custom Shop Strats coming through lately, and this one is no exception. For our money, the rift-sawn maple neck is the real highlight. It’s shockingly close in feel to a mid-’60s original, with a comfortable '63-style "C" profile that melts into your hand. Paired with a round-lam rosewood fingerboard, 9.5" radius, and 21 medium vintage frets, it delivers that effortless, broken-in vibe that makes old Strats so addictive.
You'll find a mix of Custom Shop pickups loaded in this one: Fat ’60s in the neck and bridge, with a reverse-wound ’64 in the middle to keep positions 2 and 4 hum-free. The Vintage Modified #2 wiring and Tone Saver bleed circuit help preserve clarity as you roll back the volume, which is perfect for players who like to shape tone with their volume knob.
Period-correct details like a vintage synchronized tremolo, mint green guard, and vintage-style tuners round things out, all finished in Journeyman-level aged lacquer for that worn-in, road-tested feel.
