The Fender Custom Shop’s LTD 1964 “Bobbed” Telecaster Thinline Relic pulls together some of the most loved Tele features into one distinctive, inspiring instrument.
We’ve made no secret of our love for Thinline Teles, so it’s no surprise this ’64 “Bobbed” Thinline has us hooked. There’s just something about a chambered body - the note attack feels softer, the guitar “breathes” more than its solidbody cousin - and when you pair that with a killer set of Wide Range Humbuckers, we’re all in.
The quartersawn maple neck is a standout feature, sporting a comfortable ’60s-style Oval “C” profile (.85–.92") topped with a 9.5" round-lam rosewood fingerboard and 21 jumbo 6100 frets. It’s effortless to play, with a carve that invites hours of digging in, bending, and exploring.
Thoughtful details seal the deal: a custom “chopped” Tele bridge with brass RSD saddles for spot-on intonation without losing that classic snap, vintage-style “F” tuners, and your choice of pearloid or black pickguard (depending on finish). It’s a guitar that rewards every session with fresh inspiration and new tonal shades.
