Looking for a unique Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster that tips its hat to the '50s? Read on friend.
We're guessing you're here for the same reason we are - this is one gorgeous looking Strat, no? The aged black body coupled with the beautiful roasted flame maple neck, anodized guard, and aged pickup covers/knobs look amazing (in person and in our photos).
But we also know looks are only skin deep right? Well, we're happy to report that looks aside, this is a phenomenal late 50's style Stratocaster. Both the body, Alder, and the neck, 4a Flame Maple, are roasted which creates a lightweight, highly resonant instrument that is meant to get you close to an older guitar's feel, tone, and acoustic properties.
The 54 soft V neck carve is a highlight. To our hands, this carve is a wonderful "middle ground" between playability and a chunkier shape. Paired with the 7 1/4"- 9 1/2" compound radius, 6105 frets, lack of finish between the 1st and 12th frets (on the back), and 1.65" nut, this neck should be perfect for pretty much any player - whether you're a blues player bending notes frequently or primarily a rhythm player.
The Fat 50s pickups bring a smidge more bass to the classic Strat tones this guitar delivers. The bridge pickup is clear and somewhat Tele-like with just touch more oomph, if you will. The 2 and 4 positions offer beautifully compressed "cluck", and the neck pickup will have blues players grinning from ear to ear.
