Since the idea of an new, yet aged, guitar emerged in the 90s via Don Was and the Fender Custom Shop, Fender has established themselves as the place for authentic relic work, especially the Journeyman level guitars. As such, it's somewhat of a rarity to see a non-aged FCS guitar like this '57 Strat in White Blonde (Fender's NOS finish, for those keeping score at home).
The '57 Stratocaster is considered by many players and collectors to be the best Strat ever made. This year featured a more pronounced V neck carve and the end of bakelite part use by Fender. What's especially cool about this Custom Shop Strat is its Eric Clapton V neck carve - meaning, the same carve found on his signature model Strat. Eric has long been associated with this era Strat and its V carve so it's a cool nod to that history by the FCS.
Aside from the striking, and thick, one piece Vinyl Black pickguard and Clapton V carve neck, this is a FCS '57 Strat through and through: 2 piece Ash body (sorted for light weight), plain grain maple neck, Fat 50s pickups, 5-way, volume/tone/tone, 6105 frets, 1.65" nut, and more modern 9.5" radius.
Bridge, twanging bridge position tones, fat neck pickup tones....this is the perfect Strat for players looking to capture a bit of that '57 magic but want to add their own wear and tear.
