1980 Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man analog delay just into the shop!
This is an excellent example of one of the most revered delay pedals ever produced. The Memory Man pioneered the transitional sound of earlier tape echo units to analog chipset technology, maintaining a particular warmth alongside harmonically rich response. The Deluxe versions brought with it an added effect of the Chorus/Vibrato circuit, providing even more dimensionality and character.
More than 40 years later, it remains a staple in the arsenal of many pro players and studio engineers, and brought forth a wave of boutique delay pedals that simply would not exist without its influence.
This is a very clean, unmodified example that was likely completed in the early part of 1980. We observed two original surface-mounted CTS potentiometers that show date codes of the 51st week of 1979, respectively, and all solder joints on the circuit board appear undisturbed. These pedals can often be found having gone through various degrees of modification, so it's nice to see one survive all these years in its original state.
It's missing a couple of rubber feet on the back panel and has a few surface scratches, but we feel it's in very nice overall condition.
