If we had the original box for this pedal, it would officially qualify as New Old Stock.
In what we'd describe as "reissue" clean, this 1977 Electro-Harmonix Big Muff is definitely one of the most well-preserved vintage pedals we've had in the store. This Big Muff Pi is the early iteration of the V3 circuit, featuring the 3003 Ram's Head board, AC power jack and fabled BC-239 transistors.
Fat, throaty, with great midrange and some top end sizzle, these early V3 Big Muffs are one of the more sought-after versions to have been produced. This one sounds incredible and functions just as it should, with a totally untouched circuit. If you're looking for that classic Big Muff tone, this one's got it in spades.
One minor issue - The original battery snap connector is missing a lug, likely broken off with a pesky 9V battery long ago. We've tested it with the AC outlet and it works just fine plugged in, so it's in operating condition. A fairly easy swap of the battery snap cable would allow for battery operation.
