Do a little poking around online and you'll find the name Lentz come up time and again when folks ask: "Who makes the best F-style guitars?"
Why We Love This
One of the things that makes a Lentz guitar so special is the wood they're made from - specifically the neck. They're incredibly stable and a huge reason why these guitars sound so good, and this Lamp Black hardtail S-Style features a gorgeous Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and a '67 neck carve.
Scott Lentz and his son, Scott Jr, have an incredible stash of woods at their disposal (most, if not all, of which was purchased decades ago and has been curing in their shop ever since). Each guitar is extremely resonant and lightweight, the pickups are wound specifically for that particular guitar, and the electronics are carefully matched in order to achieve the best tones possible - no detail is left untouched.
The tones are 3-dimensional, nuanced, and powerful. The tone controls work extremely well allowing you to really dial in the guitar to your rig. No brittle or weak bridge pickup tones here - the bridge pickup on this guitar will easily hang with the best Tele bridge pickup.
Flawless build quality, tones that might ruin you for other guitars, fat but comfortable neck carve, and a slinky feel - all things Lentz are acclaimed for. Simply put? This is a remarkable instrument, period.
