This Collings "Builder's Choice" OM is a pre-cursor to what became the new "Hill Country" series. We hosted this exact guitar at our shop when Collings was still in the research and development phase of the Hill Country project (it was then known as 'Builder's Choice') -- and we all remember it fondly. It's stunningly lightweight; and the full-thickness neck carve makes it thunderously resonant and responsive. It features a portion of the look that would become the Hill Country aesthetic -- namely, the blank peghead veneer and 'Collings' logo branded on the back of the headstock. The sound is incredible; and we think it still stands as one of the best OMs Collings has ever produced. Dry, open, and woody, yet still with the signature Collings clarity, this is a grand-piano type of sound for an OM.

This guitar remains in excellent overall condition; and it was just setup at the Collings factory. Please note that it does not carry the hand-poured pickguard and grafts of the Hill Country Series (though it is otherwise constructed like an OM1A HC). Priced with its original hardshell case. On consignment; shipping calculated at checkout.
