This 2007 Collings I-35 is quite a stunning example of the first-year semi-hollow electric model that broke Collings into the electric guitar industry in a big way. With it's premium tonewoods and top-shelf appointments, it redefined what a boutique electric guitar could be in many ways.
This exquisitely maintained example features a very nicely faded Blonde finish atop a highly figured bookmatched set of carved Maple with a premium-grade Honduran Mahogany body. The original finish has sunken into the wood, revealing natural grain lines throughout, which is quite a visual!
The neck - also premium-grade Mahogany - features an early spec Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard bound in grained ivoroid with a matching Brazilian Rosewood peghead veneer. All in all, a really impressive aesthetic that has set these guitars apart.
All electronics are factory, including the pair of Jason Lollar Imperial humbuckers. The matching ivoroid knobs and pickup rings tie in very nicely with the ivoroid buttons on the Sperzel tuners as well.
