Being a shop that represents both acoustic and electric guitars, you can imagine we jump back and forth between these two worlds quite frequently - not only in the shop, but in our personal guitar playing lives. As such, we have a soft spot for guitars that straddle the line between acoustic and electric and none do this quite as well as a great Epiphone Casino or Gibson ES-330.

Enter the Collings I-30 LC, the Austin, TX-based company's take on this style of guitar. Maple laminate body (hollow), mahogany neck, short scale, dog ear P90s, trapeze tailpiece are the basic recipe - all of the highest quality and build quality. It's actually an understatement to frame it this way. This guitars are truly flawless in their build quality, playability, setup, and tonally.

The Lollar dog ear P90s capture classic Casino/330 tones - which is to say, a rich midrange paired with beautifully balanced bass and treble - and sound equally as at home whether played clean or overdriven.

Aside from these aforementioned qualities, another feature that sets the I-30 LC apart from it's Epiphone/Gibson cousins is the size of the body. Essentially, the I-30 LC's body is an inch smaller than a Casino or 330, making it quite a bit more comfortable for most players - especially those with shoulder issues.

Whether you're a jazz, rock, or blues player, the I-30 LC will be right at home in any/all of these genres - delivering an inspiring playing experience and versatile tones, all while looking damned good in the process! Priced with hardshell case.
