This is a very early Collings D3 -- serial number 970 -- which has just come into the shop on trade! What makes a 31 year old Collings special? The sound. This guitar is lightly built, thinly finished, and it's been played aggressively as a gigging instrument for decades. It's got the kind of wide-open, woody, and well-defined voice that new no guitar can have; and we're very fond of the naturally-relic'd aesthetic. This is a great-sounding instrument, and a fantastic choice for anyone who's been on the lookout for a well-played Collings dreadnought.

Condition: we rate this guitar's overall condition as "good." There's a repaired top crack, mild finish checking, and scattered dings and scratches consistent with thirty years of gigs. This is most definitely not a guitar for buyers who will seek to scrutinize its cosmetic condition, but it is a fantastic choice for anyone who values tone and playability over all else. Its original setup has hardly shifted a millimeter, but our shop has given it a freshening up nonetheless. Priced with non-original hard case.
