A style-42 Collings Traditional guitar is a rare bird indeed; and this is the first one we've had with the optional "Dark Sunburst" finish. If we may say so, it looks stunning. The abalone top purfling really pops in contrast to the blackened edges of the 'burst; and the extra-thin, high-gloss finish makes the guitar sparkle from across the room. No sound sample we could provide would encapsulate the true joy of playing this guitar: it's explosive and powerful, with grand-piano shimmer and fantastic openness of voice.
