Koa is more often associated with the ukulele, where the tonewood's brightness helps to boost the volume and presence of the diminutive instrument. The same applies to this small-bodied, short scale 01. With koa back and sides, you get all the brightness you'd expect, while the torrefied Sitka spruce top lends some warmth and roundedness. Combined with the satin finish and Collings' Traditional construction techniques, the end result is a guitar that really brings out the best of koa.
