This beautiful Two Point mandolin from luthier Austin Clark just made its way into the shop! We're big fans of Austin's work, and this mandolin is a particularly striking example of his craftsmanship.
Drawing inspiration from Loar-era mandolins, Austin crafts his instruments using traditional construction methods, including hot hide glue and a gorgeous, hand-applied vanish finish. This one sports a lovely one-piece back, abalone inlays and fully bound body, fingerboard and peghead.
With a varied pick attack, this mandolin can produce tones suitable for everything from jazz to bluegrass, with a warmth and roundness that gives way to a throaty bluegrass growl when driven harder. Very clean, with only light signs of prior ownership. Ready for the stage with a K&K pickup installed, and priced with a Travelite violin style case.
