Luthier John Slobod has a well-earned reputation for making some of the world's finest interpretations of 1930's Martins under his Circa Guitars moniker. This very early Circa (serial number 23) has a following amongst John's fanbase (us included): it was formerly owned by Stephen Bennett; it features some of the most amazing Koa you'll ever see; and the cutaway's side section is a single piece of Brazilian Rosewood blended into the figured Koa. This is an incredibly lightweight & responsive guitar -- a perfect fit for a fingerstyle player chasing the dramatic bass response and clarity of a 30's Martin OM alongside a bit more sparkle in the voice (thank you much, Koa & Engelmann). Overall condition is very good: it's been played, and there are a few scattered fingernail marks on the soundboard. The inside label shows a bit of tarnishing from a humidifier dripping on it a bit. Setup and playability are excellent. Priced with bright orange Calton Case. On consignment.
