This recently constructed Charis SJ, from luthier, Bill Wise, lives up to its reputation as an uber-responsive fingerstyle guitar. The beautifully clean Swiss Spruce top is light, yet stiff, yielding clarity, crispness and warmth of tone when played with bare fingers. This is a guitar seemingly built with alternate tunings in mind, since its voice shines there so brightly, but it's plain-and-simple a really fun guitar to play no matter how you tune it or where you fret it. Excellent craftsmanship, response, and depth of tone. Priced with its original hard case, which is a standard contemporary model (a la Guardian, Superior, etc.).
