Joe Cleary builds exquisite, sonorous mandolins that draw deeply on violin design and aesthetics. His use of overhung violin edges and deep, earthy colors visually distinguish his instruments, but ultimately the prize is in the tone.

Why We Love This

Well into our second decade representing Campanella mandolins, we remain ever impressed with his unique, inspiring take on the modern American mandolin. This 2013 "Due" 2-Point is a lovely example of the old-world-inspired craftsmanship and nuanced design aesthetic that Joe Cleary pours into every build. Taking inspiration from his background in violins, it features the overhung edges and deep, earthy color that make his instruments so immediately distinguishable. This particular 2-point is a powerful mandolin, with a lightness of build and responsiveness that makes it truly a joy to play.

This instrument comes to us in very good condition, with minimal signs of prior ownership. Priced with Calton case. On Consignment.

Please note: used instruments are, well, used. We pride ourselves on thoroughly vetting, and carefully photographing, each pre-owned instrument we sell, but many of them carry subtle signs of handling that can escape even the most discerning eye. If you have questions about the condition of this instrument, we invite you to call us for an in-hand description. We're here to help!
