Using the classic Fender T-style guitars as a leaping off point, Bill Asher's T-Deluxe model sports an offset body which balances beautifully and adds a more deluxe feel than your average Telecaster.
What does remain is the versatility of a great Tele pushed even a touch further with the inclusion of the awesome sounding T Blade pickups. These pickups capture elements of a Tele crossed with a great PAF humbucker. Articulate, slightly rounded top end, great string to string balance, and some oomph and bite when you want to dig in a little.
Played acoustically, this 1 piece ash bodied HT-Deluxe has a lively response with tons of snap & sustain, reminiscent of a great vintage Tele. The Soft V neck carve, Jescar 47104 frets, and 12" radius bring a more modern feel and playability to the overall vintage feel Bill has created with this guitar.
Plugged in there is plenty of classic Tele twang and bite in the bridge position though its top end is a little softer (this is where we're hearing that PAF quality). The neck position humbucker, coupled with a 3-way mini-toggle (series/split/parallel), gives you everything from clear single coil tones (think Strat neck pickup) to fat, Keef approved humbucker tones. You can easily pull anything from Jason Isbell worthy roots-rock tones to Frisell-esq clean tones from this guitar. It's really up to you, your aesthetic, and of course, your hands and your rig.
Simply put, this is a fantastic guitar and a great introduction to Asher Guitars and the T-Deluxe model. Priced with G&G hardshell case.
