Chuck Lee is one of the finest banjo builders in the trade. While he doesn't build nearly as many instruments today as in his heyday, the used ones that trickle into our shop are a sweet reminder of the golden era of American banjos. Names like Reiter, Fielding, Ogsbury and Lee did their part through the 80's, 90's and the 00's to bring the 19th century banjo firmly into the modern age.
This Glen Rose is a fine example of Chuck's work. Simple, elegant with a respectful nod to past innovations, like a Whyte Laydie tonering, while adding unique and practical changes. The deeper 11" pot adds power and bass to the familiar clarity this banjo is historically know for. The tone woods and hardware are all exceptional so there is no concern for instability or tuning issues. Solid, robust but responsive and refined.
Condition is excellent. Priced with modern hard shell case.
