The Tuttle Classic S is a standout among modern Super Strats, comfortably holding its own alongside offerings from builders like Grosh, Suhr, and Anderson.
With a background that includes time at Valley Arts and Don Grosh Guitars, Michael Tuttle has earned a reputation for impeccable fretwork and craftsmanship. As a seasoned guitarist with over 30 years of experience, his transition from professional musician to guitar builder has been instrumental in shaping his company, founded in 2003.
This gently used Classic S combines classic Stratocaster inspiration with modern features: a slightly chunky oil-finished maple neck with 22 frets, vintage style tuners, a vintage 7.25" radius, some of the best fretwork in the industry, and Tuttle's own bridge and pickups.
Tonally, this guitar sounds remarkable. It's a stout feeling guitar which yields a ton of sustain and punchiness which pairs beautifully with Michael's humbucker and single coils. The humbucker sounds remarkably like a Telecaster in a lot of ways - it's twangy like a Tele yet has a fatter, fuller midrange. The single coils offer great Strat "cluck" and clarity...it's a versatile guitar to be sure and one that will easily become someone's favorite HSS Strat.
