Product information

The first single cutaway Deltajet ever built, and absolutely one of a kind.

Don Grosh doesn't stand still. From the Roasted Pine series to his aged Timeworn finishes, he's consistently pushed his own line forward without losing sight of what made it great in the first place. This guitar is the latest proof of that - the very first single cutaway Deltajet ever built, and one we had a hand in speccing out.

We asked Don to build it in the spirit of a Fender Thinline Tele: natural finish, mother of pearl pickguard, aged nickel cover P90s. There's only one like it in the world, and it's here.

Underneath that stunning presentation is a roasted pine body, a material Don has been exploring with genuine curiosity, and for good reason. It's light, responsive, and tonally unlike anything else in his lineup. In his own words:

"I'm finding the Roasted Pine has a wide range of tone. It is super responsive & expressive to your right hand pick attack and dynamics. They have a bunch of sustain as well, which I was surprised about, being they are light weight. I would say the bass frequencies of these are a bit more looser sounding, than Alder or Ash. This added to the overall uniqueness in these sounding different, with their own sonic thumbprint."

Indeed, this guitar is quite loud acoustically, and the medium/large profile neck is easily a highlight. If you're a fan of perfectly sanded (ie, not sticky) neck finishes, impeccable fretwork, and moderately chunky neck profiles, you'll find a lot to love here. As we've said before, guitars don't get better playing than a Grosh - they practically play themselves.

Snappy, lively, and touch-sensitive in a way that rewards every nuance of your playing, this new single cutaway Deltajet should definitely be on your list if you're in the market for a Fender-adjacent build, but with flawless build quality, playability, and tones. A landmark instrument from a builder who keeps raising his own bar - fantastic stuff, Don & crew!
