Whether you declare the J-200 or the D-45 "King of the Flattops" may depend on your chosen allegiance (can't we all just get along?). But if you worship at the altar of Gibson, J-200s don't come too much sweeter than this early 1955 model in a beautiful tobacco sunburst finish. The guitar is in beautiful, all original condition -- with what we can only assume is the original owner's name inscribed on the top (A+ penmanship!). While the guitar has amazing single-note clarity and punch, we'd be lying if we said we didn't instantly put a capo on the 7th fret and pick a little "Here Comes the Sun." This guitar simply shines as a rhythm strummer, with the instantly recognizable shimmer and clarity we've come to associate with the Beatles, Tom Petty, Emmylou Harris, and on, and on, and on...

We've paired this guitar with a gorgeous, period-correct Lifton hard case (brown exterior, red interior). On consignment.
