Description
The Gibson Les Paul Black Beauty. Some of the biggest names in rock n' roll have all slung one at one time or another: Jimmy Page, John Fogerty, Jeff Buckley, Randy Rhoads, Jimi Hendrix was even seen with one, and of course, Peter Frampton. These guitars are legendary for a reason - beautiful looks, smooth playability, and huge tones. Gibson has only done small runs of these reissues over the years so we're happy to have this very clean 1997 example in the shop.
What sets these '54 reissues apart from other LP Customs are the pickups - a P90 in the bridge position and an alnico V "staple" P90 in the neck position. These are open sounding P90s, with more of an F-style single coil bite/top end and a nice full bass and punchy midrange.
Condition: Excellent. Being a black finish, you can see every little thing, but it's very, very clean - just a few small indentations here and there and light finish swirling. The frets show just a tiny bit of wear but overall are very clean with tons of life left.
This is simply a fantastic, highly resonant, no surprises '54 Les Paul Custom Resissue! Priced with original hardshell case.
