Product information

Punchy and clear Patent # pickups combine with a Bigsby tailpiece to make this 1966 Gibson ES-335TDC one versatile semi-hollow!

1966 Gibson ES-335TDC with factory Bigsby just into the shop!

Late 50s, early 60s, late 60s - does it matter, really?! A vintage ES-335 from any of these periods is hard to beat. They're such versatile electrics, and aside from some minor changes through the 60s, they're still cornerstones of the vintage guitar world in many respects.

The original Pat # humbuckers are just phenomenal sounding, with a bridge pickup tone that'll work LPs into a tizzy! Like many of the '65-'66 pickups, you're still getting a taste of the late-era PAF tone with a slight shift in EQ. These tend to be a touch brighter/clearer in their own way. Just excellent pickups!

The Bigsby certainly adds a little zing to the response, and a touch more sustain than the trapeze versions that became the standard in 1965. Despite the heftier tailpiece, this 335 still comes in at a very friendly weight - just about 8.25lbs!

We had the original frets (which were as worn as you could find 'em) replaced with fresh Jescar 51100 fretwire, done by Laurent Brondel. Instant upgrade in playability and feel! Laurent also replaced the original broken toggle switch tip and gave the body a bit of an overdue bath - the sweat and grime buildup was a bit too much for us to leave be.

Ships with a brand new premium TKL hardshell case.
