Product information

Of all the J-185 copies out there in the world, the Collings SJ is till, to our ears, the finest sounding of the bunch. This used SJ from 2011 is an outstanding example ~ both in condition and tone. It's not an easy task to build a Maple guitar that has fullness, texture and musicality, but Collings has the know-how. The Adirondack spruce top is a fantastic upgrade. This guitar has the warmth of mahogany, the fullness of rosewood but with punch, clarity and that very familiar, vintage-inspired chime, all wrapped up in an elegant sunburst finish.

We rate this guitar in very good overall condition, minus one area of the top which shows several small dings. Other than that, it shows the impeccable Collings worksmanship and setup which seems unchanged even after 15 years. Freshly setup in our shop with a new Collings tortoise pickguard. Priced with TKL hard case.
