This Spruce Top I-35 has a richly expansive sound and is a welcome iteration of one of Collings most popular models.

Spruce topped I-35s are one of the best kept secrets in Collings electric lineup. Love 335's? This subtle twist on a classic never cease to impress us. The dynamic range is so much wider in this model, and it trades off some of the punchiness of a maple-topped I-35/I-35LC for a richly expressive piano-like sound.

Incredibly resonant and lightweight, the top wood adds sonic complexity to the already great I-35 platform all via a set of Lollar humbuckers that are perfectly matched to this guitar. Clean or overdriven, there's something about the tone that sounds older, call it vintage if you like. There's plenty of top-end sparkle, it just has a bit more low-midrange content and a softer attack which we find really appealing.

This instrument has been very well cared for and remains in excellent condition. Short of perhaps a little tarnishing on the some of the metal components, it remains in close to new condition. There are no signfinicant blemishes to speak of. The guitar plays perfectly with a spot-on setup and has no visible fretwear. This is a great electric that will carve out a unique space in any player's guitar collection.
