Product information

With gorgeous Brazilian rosewood and a lush, open voice, this 1969 Martin D-28 is a perfect match for players chasing that warm, late-’60s folk-rock sound.

This 1969 Martin D-28 snuck in just under the wire, before the change from Brazilian Rosewood to Indian Rosewood in 1970. But as this guitar's back and sides prove, there was still beautiful stuff in the stacks!

This is an excellent-sounding guitar as well, as far as late 60's Martins go. The sound is lush, and beautifully blended, with the openness and complexity that keeps new people discovering the wonder of vintage acoustic guitars every day. An great, warm-sounding strummer for anyone who's a fan of the late 60's folk-rock genre!

This guitar has recently undergone service at luthier Bill Tippin's shop. Its repairs include: neck reset, refret, bridge & pickguard replacement, and gluing of a lengthy back crack. It sets up very well and requires no further work at this time -- and it feels strong and sturdy whether strung with light or medium strings. Priced with period hardshell case, likely original the the guitar. On consignment; shipping calculated at checkout.
