Product information

1940s Kalamazoo KG-32 in original Blonde/Natural finish just into the shop on consignment!

This is without a doubt one of the most well-preserved Kalamazoo guitars we've had in the shop; not only is it very clean condition-wise, but its geometry is about as solid as you're likely to ever find one. The chunky Soft V-meets-C neck is nice and straight with an excellent neck set, and the Spruce top shows no deflection or distortion with a healthy arch, great bridge height, and comfortable medium-low action.

The 16" laminated Maple body sports some beautiful figuring, with nice rippled flame on the back and a combination of flame and birdseye on the sides. The Spruce top has ambered slightly to a nice golden hue, and the original checkerboard top binding adds a nice touch of class that looks so great on these guitars.

This KG-32 has a balanced overall tone with moderate volume and a slight emphasis in the upper midrange/trebles that gives it a punchy sizzle. It's quite responsive too! It makes for great rhythm instrument or as a singer-songwriter accompaniment with a different voice than your typical flat top steel string acoustic guitar.

The guitar is almost entirely original save for the replacement pickguard. The original celluloid pickguard had off-gassed and begin to impact adjacent hardware, so it was replaced with a nice modern example that dropped right in. It ships in a vintage Lifton hardshell.
