Product information

This 1937 Gibson L-50 represents a great opportunity for a player who's in the market for a vintage acoustic archtop. Boasting a carved Spruce top, the L-50 is capable of handling anything from traditional swing backup to modern lead lines in the style of Dave Rawlings. Its classic lines and beautifully shaded sunburst finish make it a guitar that's equal parts decorative furnishing and musical instrument: there's no guitar that looks better hanging on the living room wall!

Condition: we'd call it very good plus. For an 85-year old guitar, this L-50 is remarkably clean, as far as cosmetics are concerned. The pickguard has been anchored to the fingerboard extension with a small screw ~ a modification we so no significant reason to undo. The guitar's second set of tuners have been recently replaced with Golden Age machines (the originals are not included, and their whereabouts is unknown). The guitar has also been refretted. Other than that? Nothing. No cracks, a lovely setup with room to adjust, and very clean surfaces. Priced with modern hard case. Shipping calculated at checkout.
